Why Join a Boat Club?

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is a Boat Club?

Lifestyle Boat Club is a private club. This means that our boats are only available to Members. We do not rent or charter our boats. Our members are the only ones with access to the fleet and they never pay a fee to use the boats.

How Much Does It Cost?

Like most clubs we charge a one-time Initiation Fee and an annual (you may choose to pay monthly) membership fee. We do not require long commitments from our members; you can join for as little as one year or up to 3 years.

Are There Any Limits on Boating?

No. Members have Unlimited access to boats. Boat as much as you like.

Will I Get Any Training?

Yes. All members receive "On the Water" training with the dock master. Training covers LBC processes, general navigation, docking, and safety.

How Soon Can I Get On the Water?

After joining, new members can normally be boating within 5 to 10 days of joining.

How Do I Reserve a Boat?

We have an online reservation system, SpeedyDock, that you can reserve a day and up to 1 hour before.

How Many Reservations Can I Have?

Members may have maximum of (4) advanced reservations, 2 weekday and 2 weekend days, on the books at any given time. Once a reservation is used, a new one may be made.

Can I Get a Boat on Short Notice?

Yes. Simply call the LBC coordinator or dock master at the marina and they will tell you what's available and you reserve it for "Spur of the Moment" use. Spur of the Moment use does not count as reservations. It is like a "walk on" round of golf.

Will I Get a Boat When I Call?

LBC tracks members vs. boats to ensure we do not have too few boats for our members. LBC adds boats as members are welcomed into the club. By tracking the usage of the boats by type and by location, LBC can determine the boats that are most popular and add more.

What Size Boats Will I Have Access To?

All boats ranging from 18' to 31' are available to LBC members depending on membership package. Variety includes Luxury Sport Boats, Family Bow Riders, Ski Boats, Pontoons, and Cruisers. Members choose the boat they need when making reservations.

Are the Boats Well Maintained?

Absolutely, in fact, all boats are inspected weekly by the LBC dock staff using a 50 point checklist of safety equipment, hull condition, electronics, and general mechanical items.

Can I Get a Boat Early / After Hours?

Yes, as long as your schedule does not impact another reservation. Both early and after hours boating may require some additional training.

Can I Use the Boats Overnight?

Yes. Some restrictions and additional training may apply, but our qualified members routinely enjoy overnight excursions.

Is Insurance Included?

LBC maintains insurance that covers all of our vessels as well as third party liability. Members generally are only responsible for paying any deductible that may apply if they damage a boat.

What if the Boat Breaks Down?

LBC members would be responsible for getting it to a safe harbor and a LBC crewmember will retrieve boat on all vessels during normal business hours.

What if I Leave and Can't Safely Return Because the Weather Gets Bad?

LBC members would be responsible for getting it to a safe harbor and a LBC crewmember will retrieve boat on all vessels during normal business hours.

Which Boats Are Included in the Fleet?

We offer a variety of premium boats ranging from 20-25 feet to allow our members to choose what best suits their needs.

Are the Boats in the Fleet for Sale?

Yes, the boat models that are in the fleet are always for sale, if we were to sell a model in the fleet we would replace it with a new boat. We would only sell any model if we had something better or comparable to replace it with.

Is the Monthly Fee Year Round or Only the Months I Use the Boat?

The monthly fee is due all year round to cover the maintenance, recommission and storage of the boats in the fleet.

How Old Do You Have to Be to Be Eligible to Join the Club?

25 years of age or older, boater's safety certificate required if born after 1988. And 21 years of age or older can drive the boat, if the actual member of the club is onboard.
